This ceramic vessel was inspired by bright graffiti of old Tbilisi as a metaphor for intergenerational dialogue between elders and youth. The vase has been realised using the hand-built coil method and its contours echo the shape of a qvevri - the ancient Georgian womb-shaped vessel, buried up to its neck in the Mother Earth to produce wine. After the first bisque firing in the kiln the surface of the work was covered with goop glazes of different colors and it was then fired at 1250°C. Playfulness of vivid and volumetric modern glazes is contrasted with the deep dark colour of clay and traditional shape of the vase.
